@awesomelgk Hey! No, it is not just jumping around, swimmers have tons of training and the higher levels get hard and tiring, the three hour practices are not always fun, it’s a hard sport! I’m so glad I got to meet another swimmer!

Well, I think swimming itself is pretty easy but competitively it is one of the hardest 😊

Kinda. I think some parts of it can be hard and some can be easy. The more you practice, the easier it gets. Some categories and types of swim can be easy, and some can be hard. It can also depend on the person. For me, breaststroke is hard, but butterfly is way easier, but that could be different for someone else.

no, I don’t think it’s easy. it’s somewhat simple, but not easy. I’m not a competitive swimmer or anything but I think swimming takes a lot of hard work and practice. for me, I don’t think I could do it simply because I don’t have that coordination or stamina. so no I don’t think it’s an easy sport

For me I can swim and I can do it well. Any sport is hard and there really shouldn’t be a debate on which sport is harder or costs more than another. The hard thing about swimming is that it requires strength in the arms and legs, you also have to be able to hold your breath as you swim and your goal is to swim faster which makes it harder.

I'm not sure why anyone would say it is easy.

Yes, once you can swim swimming itself is easy but it will always be physical exercise especially when done as a sport. Swimming is full body exercise because of the resistance of the water.

So many people who are untrained or just don't swim well struggle to even swim a short distance.

Yes, you can just relax in the water but that's very different from doing it competitively.

No way! I was on swim team and I came home exhausted. They worked us so hard. It wasn’t fun.

I do not think that swimming is and easy sport because although I don't swim often when I do I always get tired really easily and my legs hurt lol

Its easy but it takes TONS of hard work and dedication. I'm in many other sports as well and I do find most of those more challenging but I'm also much more committed to them.

No it's not easy, but a lot of non-swimmers think it is because they probably already know how to swim and don't think it would be as hard to go faster. But once you start swimming competitively you have to learn a lot more technique, not to mention all of the turns, build up your strength, and also a surprising amount of swimmer lingo. Also, not everyone that learned swimming for safety knows how to do fly. (make sure to @ me if you want me to respond)

Np, it is definitely not easy. I mean, as a fun swim in the pool, ots not that hard, but when you are competitive then you have the pressure and need to be faster and win, which can lead to hours and hours of training. A lot of people like that, but swimming isnt for everyone, amd thats okay. I love the pressure and need to win, because i am very competitive. As for hours and hours of training, i dont mind, because its something i love, and i get to spend time with my friends at my pool. So sorry for being so long haha

i do think swimming is difficult because you have no breaks, the breathing is different which can make it hard, and i think in some ways individual sports (eventhough there are some relays) are hard on the person themselves sometimes. swimming is exhausting and tiring. i do think you have to have good stamina for swimming.

those are some of my thoughts on swimming!

my sister does swimming and i did once when i was younger. i know if i tried now that i would be able to go down the pool once and be fine but going back that i would be tired.

in my opinion aquatic sports are the hardest because you can't breathe constantly while doing them! not saying other athletes aren't incredible but swimmers have to learn to still swim really fast with about half of the oxygen a runner would inhale while racing. it also uses muscles all over the body and is one of the best cardio exercises you can do. it really peeves me when people say swimming is easy bc i think since it's kind of a smaller sport, people don't know how much work actually goes into it. swimming half a mile as a warm-up is not something just the average swimmer can do, it takes a lot of hard work. thank you for listening to my Ted talk 😂

@swim_girl Hello! Yes, swimming half a mile as warm up is not easy for most 😂. It peeves me too, and honestly swimming isn’t easy, a lot of professionals hate it, they hate the practices, the long events, the time put into it, but they couldn’t live without it. I completely agree with everything you just said

@GenMalucci yes it wouldn't be surprising if all professional and competitive swimmers have stockholm syndrome! if you don't know what it is definitely look it up 😂 bc even though swimming is really hard and miserable sometimes we just keep going back for some reason!

I think it's hard because you have to train hard and long to get the best times in your competitions and you need a strong stamina which is hard to build up.
But if you're swimming just for fun its easy.
