Soooo,as I think most of us are more or less stuck at home I thought, we could all share some funny/weird/beautiful stories from trips that we made in the past. I don't know about you guys but the lack of seeing new things and making experineces when traveling is really something i miss at the moment 😢 The users on this website are from all around the world, so i think this can get quite colorful I will start off 😉 A few years ago when I was in Venice (Italy) i found on of the best bookstores on this world by chance. You might have seen pictures of it if you are a booknerd 😂 it's called aqua alta. But when I was there i didn't knew that (i think i was about 10 years then and not really on the internet). Book over books over book everywhere, stacked on old boats, the perfect place for people how love books. And when I was in there i found one book that was German. And I haven't touched many books in there because I was just in awe of the bookdisplay, but that one Micky Mouse comic I pulled from the bottom of a huge stack was German 😊 Well, thats how I got a unique souvenier which is also something useful, not something to put on a shelf to get dusty I am looking forward to read your stories 😇 Have a lovely day ❤️ |

@earthling I love this idea!So a few years ago my family and i had gone on holiday to Norfolk (England) and there is this big Forrest their called Thetford Forrest. We had booked to stay in a little cottage in the forrest and it was amazing. There was a place to park the car and next to it there was a grave path that led to the house. It was so pretty! Our cottage was white with flower beds next to the doors and under the windows. All the flower were brightly coloured and it looked amazing 😍. Our garden at the house was beautiful because we could see the lake and some more of the forrest from the benches in the garden. In the evenings we would go on little adventures through public footpaths. It was one of my favourite holidays ❤️ I hope you enjoyed my little story 🙂 and have a good day! |

@Immy that sounds so nice living in a cottage and if it is just for a few days must be wonderful 😍 so here another one When I was in Ireland we went to a chocolate factory. It was in the middle of nowhere, in the Burrens. (West coast, near Galway) Getting there was already worth the trip, driving down those narrow irish country lanes with that beautiful landscape around us, man a feast for the eyes But then when we arrived there, the smell, chocolate all over the place. Inside it was just this small room with two chocolate mills(i guess thats their name 😂) and a window to their working area. Still that delicious natural coca smell around us. After seeing the factory we went in the cafe next door. And I'm telling you those cakes and tarts and brownies where so nice looking, so many different tastes, really hard to choose 😭 |

Two years ago me and my whole family went to Florida. When I say my whole family I mean my sisters, brother, parents, and grandparents. Once we got to our house that we were going to stay at, it was pretty late. So everyone was getting ready to go to bed, and my grandpa accidentally used anti itch cream instead of toothpaste.😂 now we joke about it all of the time

My family and I went to live in Italy for a while, right outside our apartment that we rented when we lived there had a little water fountains thing that wrapped around the courtyard in the front. My brother and I would take a huge bag of bouncy balls and race them down the fountain, I still have a couple of those bouncy balls somewhere. And we lost an American football in a bush, we accidentally kicked it into the top of this humongous 20 foot tall bush and we couldn’t get it out. I wonder if someone found that football.

Early March last year we were supposed to go to Italy but it got cancelled because there was a whole lot of COVID there, we were all so upset, we had sort of joked about planning another trip to somewhere without any covid, we started looking for places to stay in Belize in the next week, we got all flights and hotels planned just a week before we were supposed to leave. Anyway we normally spend half of a week in a few different places where we are, so first we spent 3 or 4 days San Ignacio, went on a tour that included Mayan ruins and cave tubing, the next 2 days we spent (I forget what it was called) on a beach, with another tour that included ocean fishing and snorkeling, and took a ferry to Caye Caulker, the last night we stayed in Belize City, close to the airport, but it was still fun! There was amazing food (our favorite was fry jacks) in all of these places and a lot of sweet stray dogs (our favorite was Fry Jack)! Our family travels out of the country usually twice a year, this year we were supposed to go 3 or 4 times but they all got cancelled 🙁! Also on our first or second day in Belize we got an email from our superintendent that school was canceled for the next 2 weeks (which eventually extended because we still haven’t gone back 🙁)!I hope you enjoyed this as much as we did! |

One time when we lived in Italy we found this dairy farm out in the country, so every morning or so, my dad, my brother and I would all bike ride down to the farm, exchange our empty bottle and fill up a new one of healthy organic milk, then ride back home. Sometimes on our rides we would pass the test track where they tested formula 1-2 or whatever they call them. And we would sneak in and watch the new models and stuff get tested and driven. I’m like 101% sure we weren’t supposed to be there.

Soooo.... A year ago I went in Paris,France and we ate waffles in a cafe. Then we had to pay and I didn't know how to speak French very much so my mom helped me to say in French "we want to pay" . In French "Nous" means we and "nous" means you. So I was a bit confused and when I went to tell that we want to pay I confused the nous with the nous and I told "vous voulez payer" which it means "you want to pay" 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂And then the woman left without saying nothing I told my mom and she told me that I did the mistake 😂 😂 😂And I got so embarrassed 😂 😂 😂 😂

My family and I went up the Oregon Coast and so we started in Cresent City, California and went to Astoria, Oregon but anyways we were in Cresent City doing a bunch of hikes through the Redwoods and along the shore of the ocean lol and we were doing a 1/2 mile hike and on our way down I slipped and cut my knee open and I stopped my dad and being my dad said I was fine lol and that it was just a small cut so we got to the bottom to a look out to the ocean and so I sat down and my aunt looked at it since she works in an ER. She put a big band-aid on it and we hiked back up...the whole way back up my cousin walked by me telling me all about how he fell several times and got back up without a scratch 😂 Then we sat down at a little table where we were parked at and put some neosporn on it and wrapped it with toilet paper because that is literally all we had to wrap it then we went to another hike 😂 Then we did the Paul Bunyon thing with the sky rides that takes you through the Redwoods and drove through a huge tree while my knee was still cut open and didn't get much treatment. (btw it wasn't a small cut and probably could us a few stitches) Then once we got back to our hotel at the end of the day my parents first asked me if I wanted to go into the ER and get some stitches and I was just like no thanks because it wasn't bothering me that much so they went to the store and got some peroxide that cleans it out and some actual wrap and bigger band-aids and we wrapped it up and cleaned it out...so now even almost two years later I have a huge scar on my knee 😂 😂 So yeah

@workmanhawell, every scar tells a story 😉 your knee says 'badass' 😎 i once bruised my knee in kindergarden (just small but it bleed and i was in kindergarden, so everyone was concerned) and i refused any kind of band-aid. So when i went home i sat there in the bus, pressing my winnie pooh towel on it 😂 🙈 But i think the next day a got a band-aid 🙈 |
