So last year one of my best friends told me he liked me but we decided to wait till high school and then see if we wanted to date. I could totally see us dating and even before my friend confessed my mom said that we would be a good couple. The problem is that I think I like him but I’m not completely sure. Could I only think I like him because he likes me and we are still friends or do I actually like him? Please help lol

Sorry for asking (cos this gonna sound really weird) but are you in England because i don’t really know the school timeline for America, but I do for England. You don’t have to say the country if you don’t want too, but maybe your year/grade might be helpful to me.

Soo you’re in the same grade/year as me, and quite honestly I’ve never been in that situation. When a couple of boys confessed to me, I always just turned them down politely, saying things like “i dont wanna be in a relationship right now” or something like that. If you think that you like him, give it some time to see if your feelings develop or not. If they do, then maybe tell him that you like him, and you can work out what you wanna do from there. If it turns out that you don’t like him that way, then you can just stay friends. Hope this helped! 🙂

Telling if you like someone is sometimes difficult especially when you don't have much experience with liking someone yet. I think it could be possible that you don't actually like your friend because it's common to think you like someone just because it's somehow expected from you whether it's your mom thinking you would fit together well together, friends or society in general. I think what's important is that you are open about your feelings and only do what you are comfortable with. Talk with your friend and tell him that you are not sure. If you both feel comfortable with it you two could try dating. Friendships are something special and when romantic feelings get into them they can often get complicated or change. |

@halokiwi sorry I lost this forum and just saw this. The thing is though that whenever I think about my future/ dating someone I can only see myself dating him, and even when I try to think of someone else I can’t
