I like to just play around with different chord progressions and picking patterns on the guitar. I also have a Pinterest board with writing prompts.

I can't say much for song writing, but I can say that I'll get a seed of an idea, usually just a character, or a theme, then it slowly grows. The last seed was literally from a language arts assignment 😂

I've written a few songs and I always keep a notebook for ideas by my bed! I've found that a lot of times I'll have an idea for a song while trying to fall asleep and forget about it by the time morning comes. I've also noticed that I always am scared of being over dramatic while writing, and have started trying to let go of that because poetry and music is supposed to be dramatic to a certain degree. i plan on making music once i get my own computer and microphone. i like to write lyrics really late at night because that's when my songwriting is best. when i feel like i'm in a slump and can't think of a rhyme, i listen to music within the same genre and listen for words that i could use.
