Hello everyone! I've been knotting for about 6 months so i'm fairly new but i got into 2 slumps already (very short, about 2 week each) so i thought i'd share some of my tips to help get out of them1. Make a very simple and fast pattern, one that you can start and finish in one setting. #42550 is my go to because you can literally make it in like half an hour 2. Join a challenge. There are so many in the "challenges" section of the forum, so find one you might be interested in and enter. All chalenges have a deadline, so you are "forced" back into knotting and finishing a bracelet 3. On the same note, finish a bracelet that is almost finished. For me, finishing a bracelet is a boost of serotonin and satisfaction, hence why all the tips (until now) are about finishing a bracelet 4. Or, you can start a new bracelet, one you've been looking at for a while but never got around to doing. I feel like there's something about picking out the colors and cutting strings that's almost magical, plus you get to see how the start of the pattern comes out looking 5. For some people looking at bracelet pictures is of inspiration and can help, it doesn't work for me but every person is different, and no harm comes from trying! 6. Get company. One of the things that block me is getting bored of the process of knotting. I personally don't like watching tv because i can't focus enough on both of them at the same time, so i usually listen to music, but maybe get on a phone call with a friend, or knot to the "knot along" videos you can find on youtube. A life saver for me was Twitch, watching other crafters work and get progress on their works inspires me, plus you can talk to other people in the chat and i legit met so many awesome people and crafters (i can suggest some nice streamers if you're interested) That's all i can think of atm, but feel free to add more suggestions if you have any! Have a nice day everyone <3 |

7. Buying new string or organizing the one you have. I really enjoy just looking at my string collection and maybe getting ideas for how i could use it in new bracelets helps me

8. Actually sitting down and knotting for a while. Might sembra a contradiction but managing to sit down and make some nice progress in a pattern i was working on for a while motivates me to continue creating

This is really helpful! Something that I have noticed about me is that whenever I get out of like a big slump, like 2 months or more, I always end up making a 24 string normal bracelet. idk why 😂 😂

@amazingirl maybe because it's a challenge for you so you're brought back into knotting for that? Idk but very cool thing to notice : )
