What are good coping techniques. I find mindful breathing massively helpful but I am struggling so bad with thoughts and I am struggling to cope.
Does anyone have any advice?
Preferably things I can do quickly/ anywhere.

I like to take a hot shower and writing my thoughts down in a journal (nothing fancy) and if you have a pet just cuddling them.

I usually punch a pillow or keep a memory foam squishy with me in my pocket. But making bracelets also helps too.

Listening to music in an empty, silent room alone helps a lot for me

If you do a sport trying to reach a goal helps. Like when I was younger (I do ballet), I was trying to learn fouettes so I just took a day and learned them. It helps get your mind off something AND you get closer to your ogal.

repetitive tasks and fidgeting really help me and writing what your feeling down if you don’t have anyone to talk to about it

breathing helps me too and definently journaling it sounds kinda weird but when you write it down and it’s outside of your head it helps sooo much

I like to listen to loud music if my thoughts are bothering me, go for a walk or go on a treadmill, scribble on a piece of paper until you feel a bit better, tell your pets how your feeling LOL, or there are little craft kits called Perler Beads (you can find them at any craft store), and they take a lot of focus but they take my mind off of things.

I like writing songs when I’m super stressed out, or upset about something. I also like listening to music and crafting.

I like to listen to my favorite songs they help calm me down and also allowing myself to think those negative thoughts and let them run their course helps me get them out of my head. Being able to write down the way you feel really helps too, I like to use poetry

Distract yourself from whatever is happening, like fidget with something, or watch Netflix or any video, or listen to music that helps you understand what you are feeling

for me i try to do something for someone else. idk if that makes sense but i feel better when i help other people. it doesn’t have to be big because the little things you say and do could leave a big impact and help someone when it feels like you can’t help yourself🤍🤍

dont bottle up your emotions, make sure to talk to someone, it could be a therapist, a friend, a family member, or even just an online stranger who you barely know, because the relief of telling someone is super nice. also it’s good to express your emotions through a hobby, i know some of my friends are good at writing, so they would write a story and put their emotions into the characters. others might be good at art so they would draw what they’re feeling. maybe it’s singing, write a song about how you feel, or even make a bracelet, because that way you’re expressing your emotions through something you enjoy doing.
