hey sooo my bsf’s grandma just passed away ): we live rlly far apart so i can’t be with him in person and idk what to say to comfort him! i’ve never rlly had a situation like that happen to me but i rlly just wanna help and let him know like it will be ok.. more info on the situation tmrw, but any advice? i just don’t know what to say or should i just not ask? 🤷🏼♀️

For some people death is really really hard so sometimes it’s your actions that can support him more just make sure you’re there for him if he needs to talk don’t force anything on him and idk his personality or anything but it might be best to refrain from empathy unless you’ve been in a similar situation because it could make him emotional or angry but I think you should definitely check on him and just say that you’re there for him with emotional support hope this helps

when my brother passed away the first thing everyone said was sorry to me. I am not being rude, but i didnt like people apologizing for something they had no control over. I think you should tell them, that you know what they are feeling, and if you dont know how they are feeling then say that you care about them. Tell them everyday that your their for them. Tell them that your their to help them through this. Tell them that you are their fighting with them. Spend time doing things that make them happy, or give them something they care about. sorry if this is a lot |

@AlyRos425 ik what you mean. When my Grandfather passed away, everyone just kept saying “oh sorry that happened”, and I appreciated the thought and all, its just that there was nothing anyone could do about it and I would have rathered people asking if I was ok and if I needed to talk.
