I’m just curious to see how everyone was introduced to bracelets and bb.
So here’s how I found out about bracelets. In like second grade I got this dork diaries kit and it had the wheel and string for kumihimo bracelets. (I never liked dork diaries though) I never really used it and the bracelet looked really complicated at that time so I basically just stuck at my closet. 😂 Then in March during quarantine I was extremely bored and was digging through my closet and found the kit. I made the bracelets and really liked them so I basically got more string and looked up how to make bracelets and found this website. So I guess something good did come out of corona.
Comment and tell me how you started making bracelets 🙂

In 2007 I read a tutorial for the candystripe and the chevron in a kids magazine I used to read at that time.

Back in 2016 my older sister visited from college and showed me how to make some simple ones. When she left I stopped making them. Then in 2018 my friend was making them and it got me interested again.

I got one of those butterfly clipboard type thing that has a drawer thing with the super cheap string and then I lost it and then within the last year my cousin got me back into it. Then I was looking at patterns and the link led me to bb 🙂

When I was like 7 or 8, we spent Christmas in another state to be with family. I got a friendship bracelet kit with simple patterns, instructions and string. On the flight home, I tried out the candystripe, and was terrible at it. I wasn't that interested in bracelets at the time, and being the impatient child I was, I pretty much quit. I made a few more terrible candystripes, then shoved the kit under my bed and moved on.

In December 2019, I remembered that old kit I used to have. I started messing around on YouTube, watching Masha Knots and other friendship bracelet videos. Around the same time, my friend started to get back into friendship bracelets. So, I went to Costco to pick up a Christmas present for her, and lo and behold, there was the same kit I'd had many years ago, for sale at Costco. So I bought it for her. Then for Christmas, I got an Amazon gift card. I used it to buy a pack of embroidery floss, and we started to get into bracelets together. I introduced her to Masha Knots, and we discovered BraceletBook and patterns.

I was first introduced to friendship bracelets about 6 years ago. One of my friends had started making them and sent a tutorial to me. I made 2 - 3 bracelets but then got tired of it. It wasn't until about a year ago I got back into making bracelets. I have bought some string for a weaving project but I ended up getting way to much and I had a bunch leftover. I decided to start making bracelets with it. At the time I only knew how to make chinese staircase and candy stripe bracelets. Another one of my friends taught me how to make chevrons later. I eventually got bored with the simple patterns and decided to google some friendship bracelet ideas. That's how I found this site which had introduced me to so many more patterns and ideas!

It was somewhere in October I was trying to learn how to knit to impress my grandma by watching YouTube tutorials but turns out knitting is way too complicated for me. I came across this girl teaching how to make vsco bracelets (it was a chevron) and then i found masha knots and at that time I did not have embroidery floss so I started making bracelets with the thicker yarn that i had. Later I found out about bracelet book! ❤️
