Okay, so I just opened my school chromebook and the screen is cracked. I havent told my parents because they are sleeping, and also I am scared because they are probably gonna be really mad at ,e. I need help on how I should tell them in the morning.. Please 😲

Did you just find out this morning? Did you do anything that would have made it crack? Because if you just opened it and the screen was cracked and you don’t know why, they will probably get less mad or not mad at all

@Elise64 okay so my sister and i were watching tv and then we had to go upstairs so i grabbed my chromebook off the dresser and it was on the couch a little earlier. i think my dog might off stepped on it when he jumped on the couch. i havent told them because its 3:51 am but im really scared. my family doesnt have a lot of money so thats mainly why im scared

the reason it was on the couch was because i was making a pattern and then i got up to go do the dishes so i closed it and left it on the couch

Oh 😟 I’m not really sure what to say, in my family leaving a computer on a couch is fine but Idk about yours, and if it’s a school chrome book then it is different, but it’s better to just tell them and not lie to them, then you will get in bigger trouble

Just tell them that it was beside you on the couch closed and when you opened it, it was broken you don’t have to tell them every little thing unless they ask. Just be honest a chrome book screen is pretty hard to break.

I would just say straight up tell them, it will take a big weight off your shoulders, and maybe help with the money.

@2006_Mandy @Elise64 @Elwen @marvelnerd I told my dad and he said its fine and that its not to expensive to fix it. its not cracked to where i cant use it just where i cant see part of the screen im so relieved that he didnt freak out like i thought he would |

Is it a chromebook for school that you/your parents paid for? Or is it provided by the school (my school gives each student a Chromebook for the school year)? if it is provided by the school then I'm pretty sure you can have the school repair it for you.

@ellie_15 it is one provided by the school. they can fix it but i still have to pay a small fee
