soooo im a freshman and we're still doing online learning and its been going... ok for me.
I just tend to procrastinate a lot but I can't get out of the habit of doing it because I always still seem to get everything done... just a bit stressfully lol 🤪
any tips to help procrastinating or just keep track of assignments and not getting distracted studying??
thanks 🙂

Hey so I’m in 8th grade but I’m in a magnet program so I’m taking hs level courses. But I’ll offer you some tips anyway. So what I did is I made a google doc to keep track of my assignments. So at the top, there’s a calendar and I use that spot to write dowb the day that my teacher assigned something and when it’s due. Then, there’s another table at the bottom with 3 columns: Assignment Name, Due Date, and Status. The other two are pretty self explanatory as to what to put there, but in the status section, you put like “Not Started” or “In Progress” or “Completed” to show how far you are in doing that assignment. That’s kinda helpful, but the thing that I use the most is actually the reminder app on my phone. Every day when I wake up, I check the calendar in Canvas, which is what we use for online school, and I write down the assignments that are due for the day. As I go through assignments, I check them off. This helps me keep track of my progress for the day. Another thing I like to do is get on facetime with my friends on our check in day (basically a work day), and we work on stuff together. We mostly work on our math homework but we also help each other study for science and stuff. Just utilize your resources to the best of your ability and set goals for yourself. That way, you have something to work towards. You could also create a rewards system for yourself. Say maybe for every assignment you complete on time, you get a point, and when you get 10 points or something, you can go to your favorite store or get your favorite drink from starbucks. Something like that to keep you motivated. But most of all, believe in yourself and keep on pushing through. You’ve got this!!! 😉

Hi! So I'm only in 5th grade, but it seems like you just need tips for staying organized. So here are a few:

~Make a calendar for when assignments are due

~Set a time frame for working on your assignments

~Like the last person said, make a self reward system

~Make a list of what assignments are most important for the day

~Talk to a sibling/your parents asking if they have any tips for you as they know you best

Hope this helps! (If it doesn't that makes sense since I'm only in 5th grade) Happy Knotting!

Like above, make sure you know the due date, and make a list, so you can check it off. I tell myself that I can't go on here till I get my days work done, and it motivates me. Also, most of the time you procrastinate it's because you don't want to do it, or youd rather be doing something else, so don't make what you procrastinate dreadful maybe play some music or something

this was soo relatable... I'm also a freshman and we did online school for a while and now I go to school on some days. i also procrastinated and got things done just a bit more stressfully like you said haha. well when I wrote a todo list using a pen (so that I don't erase my tasks lol) I kinda did them without procrastinating as much just to put a cross things off my todo list. I also recommend that you don't work in your bed and put your phone away 😄

DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT take AP classes until you are a junior. Your writing and reading skills won’t be up to par when you’re a freshman/sophomore so please wait until you are an upperclassman. Also DO NOT take AP science or math classes. Before taking an AP English or history class, make sure you can handle the workload and your skills are very good.

Hey! I'm in 11th grade, and we're still doing online schooling as well. There are a lot of good tips people already gave, but for me personally keeping a planner and a separate notebook full of to-do lists really helps. I'll write out a fresh to-do list every 3 to 7 days (depending on my workload) in my notebook; it's almost like a bullet journal comprised ONLY of school to-do lists. As soon as I get anything assigned, I write down the subject/class it's from, then the name of the assignment or what it focuses on, and then the due date. For example: Math - Logarithms Notes: 11-23. I have a lot of colored highlighters I use to highlight the most important assignments or the ones that I know will take the longest. Then, whenever I have time I write those due dates in my planner in bright inks to make it easier to visualize how much time I have left to do the assignments. If you have friends in classes that get the same work as you, WORK ON THEM TOGETHER. It keeps both of you accountable as long as you say 'let's work on this together at 4:00 today, alright?'

Also, if you're taking notes it's always best to write them on paper physically. You retain more of the info that way because it takes more effort to do. If writing them down during class takes too long, type them during class and then write a paper copy later. It has done wonders for my AP Chemistry grade.

None of the self reward systems have really worked for me because I have zero self-discipline, lol. Also, just because I saw it mentioned, if you already have good grades then it would be fine to take one AP class during 10th grade. That's what I did, and I was fine, BUT it should NOT be a math or science based AP class. Those are really difficult. It should be something that is notoriously 'easy' and/or something you are genuinely interested in or good at.
