Which do you prefer: symmetrical patterns or asymmetrical ones?

Generally, I prefer symmetrical patterns, but I'm working on an asymmetrical one based on an artist I like, but I've gotten feedback it looks unbalanced. What to do??

So I assume it's an alpha pattern?

I recommend making the amount of empty rows equal on all sides.

If you based your pattern on a photo include a link to it in the review notes. In general include information about what your pattern is in the review notes if it's not something most people would recognise immediately. That helps the moderator reviewing your pattern giving you a better feedback. You can also always ask in the review notes for a detailed message or message the moderator who declined your pattern for more detail.

Ooooh, I’m obsessed with asymmetrical (normal) patterns at the moment. If you look at my profile I’ve made quite a few of them lol, sometimes they come out wonky but actually the black and yellow one came out completely straight (using the straight edges technique as well).

Don’t get me wrong, I love symmetrical patterns too, but idk, something about asymm ones just is really cool and unique I guess. Like it mixes things up a bit.

Also straight edges technique should help, but practise will make it better. Sometimes I tie my knots too tight or too loose, or the edge string shoes through.
