For alphas that have a solid color background you can use multicolored thread and it looks really cool.

something as simple as a chevron would look awesome. If each string was multicolored thread i think it would look really cool and i also just thought of this and will go try it because now i'm curious. also any kind of alpha always looks good. name bracelets, vertical wave, or rag rug (even though they're for scrap thread)
