@JJbracklet I don't wear headgear, or rubber bands but I will probably get them soon. I'm kinda scared to get rubber bands, does it make it hard to do things like could I sing with them on if i do have to wear them during the day?

@Elise64 my friend had rubber bands and could still do choir and just do normal stuff. I've never had them tho.

Try chewing gum for a little while and then paste it over the wires that hurt. It acts as a sort of cushion, and feels really soft. (I know that sounds gross, but what can I say? It works!)

One of my problems is where I would like....I would suck on like my cereal....it sounds weird but like, my gums would swell up and get all puffy, and hurt, and whenever I tried to use wax I would always end up eating most of it😂and even though they gave me a list of food not eat... I ate it all anyway. Didn’t we all?!? Anyways, I am getting mine off in 3 days and I’m really exited! Not that I don’t want them off, but I really want to see my new smile! And I’m getting a retainer, so that should be fun...😅 my mo told me hers were slimy afterwards too lol.

@Fluffball The putting on doesn't hurt much, but within a few hours your teeth will start aching, and THAT hurts like crazy!

@Fluffball When they put it on, they are literally just glowing it down; but putting it on moves your teeth (which is what it's supposed to do) and since your teeth aren't used to that, the initial stages are painful. But after about a month, your mouth gets used to it, and it will gradually start hurting less. This is just what happened to me, and I don't know if it's the same for everyone, since braces are put on for several reasons, but I hope this helps. 🙂

when your braces kind get dry then you smile and those hook things on your canines get stuck on your lip. Or when you lay on your side and you wake up to your inner cheek being ripped up....grrr

I had braces for one and a half years then two years later had to get them in again for like a year. Still wearing rn hopefully will be off in June 2021.

And also, my teeth are in pain cuz they needed to put new brackets on, and I’m supposed to smear mango flavored paste on my gumline at night, and I have to brush after every meal and snack, so that will be fun 😁😭😂

@Elise64 at least the bright side about getting braces again is that my teeth seem to be straighter so maybe they’ll turn out nicer then last time.
