I'm a lot older than most people here, I'll bet and am old enough to be most everyone's mother. I don't have children but I was thinking if I did it would be fun to make friendship bracelets together.
I just started making them again since before the internet.😳 Do any of you make bracelets with your parents or an older relative or guardian? Just wondering. Thanks.

@mailgirl I think its awesome that you've continued to make bracelets for so long. Im 16 and I just started making bracelets so I'd say that I started kinda late. My sister and parents aren't into bracelet making at all and my aunts are more into crocheting and embroidery. Although, I once tried to teach my mom how to make a chevron and it didn't go well lol. But I think making bracelets with a family would be so cool! 😄

I love that bracelets have no age limit! My grandma introduced me to rainbow loom and my mom introduced me to gimp bracelets in grade 2. Then when I wanted to start friendship bracelets my older cousin started me out and now I make way more advanced bracelets than her. I never knew that my mother could make bracelets but one time when my little sister wanted me to teach her and she failed she made my mom finish it for her and well my moms knots are way better than mine. So yeah my mom knows how to make them although she barely makes them. ❤️

I tried to explain how bracelet knotting works as she doesn't understand english very good and I couldn't find a good german tutorial. It took a lot of time but she actually managed to make two smaller bracelets! But she always complained that it looks ugly while mine are looking straight. I told her that it is normal that hers aren't as good yet because I have way more experience in it. I think she enjoyed making the bracelets with me but it's nowhere to become a daily thing for us sadly.

my mom doesn’t make them any more but she actually taught me how to make brcaelets. she learned how to make them at camp when she was little and i was super interested after i learned a candy stripe. i’ve tried to explain alpha patterns to my dad and he was like, oh cool and i don’t think he understood a thing.

@mailgirl Hello fellow oldie! 😂 I don't have kids myself, but I do work with them. I love to teach bracelet making at school events like sleepaway camps. It's awesome to see the reverse here, with people here teaching their parents/guardians.

@mailgirl I was in the hospital, and was feeling kinda down, and my mom made me a friendship bracelet. That's how I got into it. Just seeing how much time, effort and love she put into it, made me feel so special.
I've started sending my grandma bracelets to send in her care packages to a local hospital to hope make their day a little better, so no. I think anyone can make bracelets. 🙂
