My parents used to have a party for me with my friends but then as i got older they found excuses to spend less and less money until all i do now is have a sleepover with my friends in my basement which i don't even enjoy for many reasons. I mean I never really had as many friends as my siblings so unlike them I've never had a party since i was 6 anywhere but at home. In january because of covid i have an excuse to finally not invite my terrible friends over although I have seen them a few times. The more fun part of my birthday is my grandma giving me a new purse of wallet. I might seem a little selfish or greedy but I kind of am. I hated getting gifts last Christmas and getting indigo gift cards and nothing else for my birthday last year didn't help. But i mean my parents sometimes surprises me and takes me out for dinner on my birthday or we at least have a dinner of my choice with my extended family. So umm I do celebrate my birthday but i don't really enjoy it sadly for different reasons. 🙁how do you celebrate?

So, my birthday is the day after Christmas, and usually, I will invite people (Which I don't know why ) And none of them come. So about four family members come, as well as two of my parent's friends. After they hang out for some time, my mom usually takes me to watch a movie, or go do something fun, because usually, my birthdays are pretty lame. So yeah

I usually am only allowed to invite a few friends to do something with me for my birthday. In the past, we’ve gone to the bowling alley, the movies, the arcade, and the trampoline park (obviously not all in one year. This is the span of like 4 or 5 years). Honestly, I don’t mind only inviting a few people to do something small because a. I don’t really like the idea of inviting people just to invite them because it’s a waste of money and a waste of time b. I have many friends, but only a few that I actually enjoy hanging out with, and I would rather spend my birthday with those friends than a bunch of fakes and c. I want to have a quinceañera, so I would rather put money towards a nice venue, dress, cake, etc. for that than a party that no one is going to remember. I’m not saying that parties are bad, but I just personally don’t like throwing big parties for no reason.

@2006_Mandy I agree with u. Iv kinda given up on bday parties for many reasons. Also iv given up on receiving gifts, I kinda honestly dread my bday every year. Pretty sad ngl

@marvelnerd I know ur pain my Birthday is really close to Christmas and everybody else is always doing their own thing. But I usually just have family parties some of my friends might come tho, last year we all went to the skating rink

My birthday is just after Christmas and New Years so it generally doesn’t get mixed in, but i kinda stopped celebrating my birthday when I was 10 so I don’t do much. Bonus story though, my ex bf forgot my birthday when we were dating✨💕

My two sisters and I were all born in the first week of December (and no, we’re not triplets😜) so basically we eat cake, leftover cake, and more cake every night for a week😂 It’s a super busy time of year since it’s Christmas time so we don’t do too much for them. I don’t really have parties anymore, but my sisters typically have one in January. Regardless, I still have fun😊
