it wasn’t really good in my opinion, because it isn’t as rememberable, the writing was meh, the main actress was really bland, and it was just a watered down, disney channel original worthy, remake. not to mention the fact that they took out pivotal moments (like mulan cutting her hair, or climbing the pole, or even developing her friendship with the other soldiers) and replacing them with it basically useless cutscenes and bad writing. mushu was replaced with a phoenix WHO DOES NOTHING and they replaced all the other funny characters and made them watered down versions of themselves. The main actress also supported the police brutality in hong kong soooo... anyways, if they did want to make it realistic and accurate, they should have had more asian people in the crew to make sure what was going on was correct or not. as ive seen online, other than the cast, no one else is asian, which is a little disappointing to me. they also added in a redemption arc for one of the villains to make it seem she wasn’t too bad, but it’s been done hundreds of times before (like in the latest star wars for example) and it’s going to be done in the future too. the chi also shows the sexism between men and women, with women being “witches” for harnessing chi, but men praised for using chi, so i guess that was ok? all in all, it’s a forgettable movie, and i wouldn’t waste my time watching it other than to have background noise while doing something else. the animated one was way better, and i would watch that and the sequel ten times each before i would have to lay my eyes upon the watered down shell of a masterpiece that is the mulan remake. that was an over exaggeration, but still. thanks for reading for this long if u made it. sorry it’s long 😂

I watched for free on a website called soap2day.to. It was amazing and I love that they added more of the things for the legend then from the animated movie.

@amazingme actually the movie was supposed to be more like the legend that’s why mushu wasn’t in it since mushu didn’t really exist in the legend it was the Phoenix. And the Chi is supposed to symbolize the warrior spirit. Mulan never really ended up with the General. He was inspired by the General in the legend who found out that Mulan was a women first. But the best thing about the animated version has got to be the songs and the comedy am I right 😄

I saw it, it is so good!! I really love what they did with it and in my opinion, it’s worth the $30 and it’s better than the animated. I’ve never said that a live-action movie is better than original before (and I’ve seen all of the remakes), so basically I really loved it! ❤️
