hey! My name is Alice and I love to rollerblade. I'd also love to make new friends so if any of you rollerskate or rollerblade, just reply and share a little bit about yourself I guess. Also, if anyone does do both, what are the differences and which do you prefer? i'm wondering if I should transition into rollerskating but I don't want to spend a lot on a pair of skates and never use them again. 🙂 |

@alicesitu me and my cousin use to have a pair of roller skates but we had to get rid of them because they got to small for us.

I have roller-skates! I haven’t been able to ride them as much as I would like but I prefer them to roller blades because it’s easier for me to keep my balance. I’d say though if you’re good at roller blading then you could do roller skating! (Also I got an ad for roller skates after I clicked on this post😂)

@V_2007 that's a shame, you could probably find some really cute new ones though, I heard impala skates rollerskates are really colorful, urban outfitters has some too

@TiedUp yeah, i haven't been able to rollerblade a lot but behind my grandparents' house is a parking lot that's usually empty so I'll rollerblade when I go to their house

Well there is a road in front of my house that I can do roller skating on but it is very busy road so I can't.

I have to say rollerblading. I'm a figure skater, and when all the rinks shut down with the pandemic earlier this year, I got rollerblades and spent A LOT of time with them. I've tried rollerskates a couple of times, but the blades are a lot more similar to figure skates, so I prefer them. 🙂

I just ordered some rollerblades, i’m so excited to learn!! I’m kind of nervous, but i’ve also had some *extremely* beginner figure skating experience so i’m hoping some skills might transfer. I’ve tried rental rollerskates a couple of times, but I wasn’t able to balance at all lol

@jello_jenn good luck!! its so fun and its so easy once you get the hand of it. Make sure you wear protective gear, I've been rollerblading for a while now and I still wear at least knee pads, I've learned my lesson plenty of times. I also recommend finding a smooth surface like an empty parking lot or tennis courts (if you are allowed)
