How do I train my puppy?!

Hi! So I have a holiday from online school for about a week (until 24th) and I have a puppy who is 5 months old and NEEDS to get trained! I have looked at a few YouTube videos but it is really hard to follow. The only thing she knows to do is sit 😂. Any ideas? Thanks! |

I recommend buying healthy training treats to reward them for good behavior, or whenever they do the trick you want. I think the main thing to training your dog is to have a lot of patience, it takes time. I think that learning one trick at a time would speed the training process up because the dog would be less confused. I hope this helps, Good Luck!!

Under non Covid rules, we went to petssmart for their classes and it was great. But at home, around five times a day for five minutes, give simple commands like sit, stay, and come and reward with lots and lots of praise and a little treat. Don’t be mean if they don’t do it right because then the will become scared. My puppy L O V E S positive re enforcement but every puppy is different. Hope this helps!!❤️❤️

so, i would suggest leash training first and reward with treats, or just a "good dog." By leash training I mean that if it is on a leash it does make it easier to train the dog, I would also recommend the command "leave it", u can do this by holding a treat in your hand, and putting it in front of the dog, then say "leave it", and if the dog stops trying to get the treat, actually give it the treat, or reward it in some way. Doing this is a good jumping-off point for other commands. Hope this helps, and best of luck ❤️

@marvelnerd Thanks! Luckily we trained my dog leash about two months ago. My dog will have the hardest time learning 'leave it' 😂
