I have struggled with mental illness (depression, anxiety, and eating disorder) since I was about 6 or 7 years old. I started receiving treatment at age 18 when I was officially diagnosed. Recovery has been hard, but I'm continuing to work hard in therapy and tweaking meds to find the right balance. 😊

I too have struggled with my mental health since a young age (about 12). I've struggled with an eating disorder, anxiety, depression; and just recently I have been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder.I'd just like to say to anyone who thinks/feels like they are struggling mentally, please reach out and talk to someone. Whether it be your parents or any family member, a friend, a counsellor at school/college etc, talking about it does help. If you feel like you can't talk to those mentioned, then there's plenty of resources online with people (who are trained) who will be there to talk and listen. If anyone needs to talk about anything, I'm always here. You aren't alone. & Stay strong❤. |

The only real way to be diagnosed is from a counselor or therapist. I had a very hard time in life in which I was very depressed and my anxiety was at an all time high. So when I went to counseling, I was officially diagnosed. It honestly was so reassuring to know that I *actually* have anxiety because now I know that I have an illness and I’m figuring out how to go about life without letting it hold me back. Talk to your parents if you feel like you need a counselor, okay?

everyone deals with being anxious, but that is different from an anxiety disorder. if you believe you have an anxiety disorder, please reach out to someone and get help. it is so important to find healthy coping skills(bracelet making is such a great coping skill) to distract from the anxiety. please get help if you need it. mental illnesses can cause many physical affects and can take your life. you are such a great person and so many people need you here. i hope this helps, love. feel free to message me if you need to talk. ❤️💕

Worrying and having anxiety/panic attacks are a bit different. Worry/anxiety is more of a thought, whereas and attack manifests itself as a feeling of things being out of control, shaking, shortness of breath, nausea, and other symptoms based on the individual. but I'm no diagnostician - I've just had anxiety for a long time and been through a ton of therapy. the best thing you can do is talk to someone you trust about it and look for a counselor to meet with. A counselor that practices cognitive behavioral therapy or dialectical behavioral therapy would be best. Anxiety is nothing to be ashamed of, and it is treatable!

Also, if you or anyone else need to talk, I'm here for y'all! ❤ I've had depression, anxiety, OCD, and PTSD for a long time, and have been in treatment for an eating disorder. I am happy to pass along any of the knowledge or skills I've learned in therapy over the years or any other advice. Just remember - I'm not a professional, just well-versed in terms of mental stuff. 🙂

@XxpeachyxX An anxiety disorder can mean worrying constantly. Anxiety can cause chronic fatigue, infections, heart issues, shortness of breath, and many other things. Trauma can cause anxiety. For me, my anxiety disorder is something that i inherited due to it being a part of my genetics. ❤️💕❤️ keep fighting darling

@XxpeachyxX Anxiety can be shown in many various symptoms that aren’t just “being anxious”. Many different symptoms can be prevalent in a person without the person feeling anxious that often. Also, a person can just feel severely anxious and not experience any other symptoms. Again, I’m not a professional, just someone with the mental illness. Happy knotting, my dear, and reach out to someone if you feel that you have anxiety and it’s affecting your life negatively.

anxiety is something that sort of goes around in my family as both my sister and i have it but i would suggest doing research into the different kinds (ex. social anxiety) and seeing if any of them sort of strike as something you might have. the best way, however, would be to get medical help rather than self diagnosing but i understand not wanting to ask for help. once you've figured out what kind you might have, researching ways to help from not only doctors but other people is really helpful!
