I’m trying to find a good pattern to make for my dad; not necessarily for Father’s Day or anything, just something that isn’t too “feminine” and doesn’t say dad. -Thx 🙃 |

I think it all depends on the colours. If you use colder or darker colours like blue, gray and black I think many patterns would be appropriate. You could also do a pattern with something he likes on it like a pattern with a car if he likes cars #10194 In general I would say the bracelet should be simple and on the smaller side. I think something big can seem too much. Maybe something with just 2 colours would also be good. Here are some patterns I think would be good #25463 #9825 #26515 #8896 Usually I'm not a person who replies to requests like that. I believe that when you make a present you should be thinking about what they like, how they are as a person and not limit yourself down to masculine and feminine. Maybe society thinks friendship bracelets aren't masculine but that doesn't matter. Try finding something your dad would enjoy as a person. Maybe something with his favourite colours or maybe something with something on it that he likes. Idk your dad so it's difficult for me to make actually good recommendations. |

yeah, i agree with @halokiwi. friendship bracelets can be made and worn by everyone. they aren’t inherently feminine or masculine, and you should make one that represents something your dad loves. i think it’s stupid that bracelets are considered a “girl thing” by many people. i’m not a girl, and nobody is stopping me from making them. anyway, my point is, we should stop labeling bracelets as masculine or feminine and enjoy all of the amazing patterns that are created by the wonderful people on here.

I am in agreement with @halokiwi and @plant-dadAnother suggestion: maybe you can show him some of the patterns here and have him pick one out, as well as the colors? Similarly to getting clothing for someone, I feel that it's best to ask them what they like. This way you don't accidentally give someone something they won't wear / feel pressured to wear. I recieved a Yankees baseball tee as a gift once. I don't watch baseball at all 😅 but I wore it around them a few times anyways because I appreciated that they thought of me (or maybe they just didn't want the shirt anymore, who knows 😆) Since bracelets are handmade, and take a very long time to make, I would definitely consider asking him for his opinion 🙂 |
