Hi guys,

I am looking for a pattern like this #103712, BUT the outermost row should be a metallic string. In this pattern this is not possible because string A2 does not only the bf knots, it does one extra knot in row 4, 8, 12 etc.
Actually, the pattern should be 2 colors like this to use multicolor string but with the extra 3rd color to make an additional metallic border.

Would be nice if someone could help.

Thanks!

You want to tie the pattern as it is, but with a metalic border?

You can easily do that by replacing the left most string with a metallic string and making only fb knots with it instead of what the pattern tells you to do. The right most string you would also replace and only do bf knots with it.

This video should show you how to add a border to any normal pattern

Oh yeah, you are right. Didn't think of that! But then I have to add another extra string to make straight edges because at the left side fb knots are like a real zigzag wave, I don't like that look. And then the border becomes thicker. Not really the perfect solution.

In this pattern it should work, if you replace the second and the second to last string, if you want the borders.
You then need to change the first knot of all even rows to bf and the last knot of all even rows to fb.

This way you don't need to add extra strings.

You mean not all even rows, but 4, 8, 12? So the first string would not be passive anymore, it would make these knots. Hm, yeah, that might work, I think. If I got what you mean.

I don't think you did. I mean the second string, not the first string. The first string would stay the straight edge string, the second string would be the border string.

I'll recreate the pattern in the generator and send it to you to show you.

@sodapop: I think you are still quite active here? Or do I just know you because you make great patterns? Would you mind to realize the idea we have here in a new pattern so it would be easier to work with? Would be very great! Thank you!

Already existing patterns with added borders or straight edges are no longer accepted.

Ah, you actually meant the THIRD not the second string. So the second B string! Now I get it! Thank you!

No, I think I mean the second string. I sent you the pattern. You can check it out now 🙂

Maybe I don't get what you want. Could you please check out the pattern I sent you and confirm, if it is what you want or not?

Yes, it's perfect! I'm so glad! You are talking about string B2.

So B2 is the second string for you?
The letter is the colour and the number is the position of the string?

I was confused and confusing you all. In another window I had a different pattern. 🙈 🙈 🙈

So, in THIS pattern the knots to change ar the ones in the second vertical row and in every even horizontal row, made by string A4.
In my case, the first 2 strings (the straight edge string and the first active string) will be metallic and become C1 and C2, so the first black knot will be a bf knot (left) made by (now become) A2 (black).

THANKS and sorry for the chaos. 😇

NO NO NO even worse! OMG I wish I could edit or delete posts here. 🙈 🙈 🙈
Now I recognize that this new bf knot in the second vertical row is always made by a DIFFERENT string. Not A2, not A4. And only the one in row 2 and 4 were originally made by A4.
