Hello guys,

I am looking for multicolor thread patterns and find sooo many patterns in which I need 6 color strings and 6 background strings (or more). Mostly it's 50:50.
I want a pattern with only 4 color strings and the rest background strings (without an outline). Background strings 6-8 would be good, but it can be more.
Why? Because I have 8 m multicolor thread and would like to use it twice... But maybe it's easier to order one more pack at temu... 😂

This is an example, but it has 6 contour strings: #103710

Thank you!

You can use the filters on top of the pattern search page for the number of strings (or “background” base strings for alphas) and number of colors you want

I would recommend searching for normal patterns with about twelve strings and two colours. I'm sure, you'll find something fitting there.
If not, you can adjust the amount of strings or colours slightly in your search.

Here are some I found
#33832
#79884
#35271
#35270
#28042
#144423

This is the search I used

(Just one more thing I want to say. I've been thinking it a lot when you mentioned Temu before. I would not recommend buying from there. The working conditions of the workers working for them are very bad and the quality of products is also very low. That's why the prices are so low. It might seem tempting, but in my opinion it's just not worth the money you are saving.)

Oh, wait, you want four, not six. It's literally in the title. Oops. I'll make a new search. Eight strings and two colours it is then.

You won't be able to do patterns as intricate with only four outline strings, but here are some that might be nice:

@sodapop usually has good patterns

You did the same as I did before. The problem is - as I said - most of the time it's 50:50 color string and background string. So if you have 8 strings, you will get 4 color strings. But I don't want such a thin bracelet. I found one or two patterns with 12 strings and 4 color strings, but mostly they have an outline.

It's not so easy...

And yes, I know, Temu is really bad with a lot of things (working conditions, quality and so on), BUT Airo is a really good thread you can get at Temu. Someone mentioned it here and I just found it too and it has the complete actual range of DMC skeins in really nice quality. So I have to admit not everything is bad at Temu. 😇

With only 4 outline strings, the design itself can't be as intricate as it could be with more outline strings. I think that is the reason why there aren't many patterns like that.

I made some patterns for you, because it is easier to design them than to find them:

12 strings: #170581 #170582
-> you could probably take any of the 8 string patterns and add a two string wide border of the background colour on each side to get a similar result

16 strings: #170583
-> this one has a bit of a complex knotting structure to kind of equal out the 'missing' outline strings, not sure how comfortable it is to tie
if you want to go above 12 strings, I would recommend using more than 4 outline strings

Oh, i really like them! I have no idea how you did this, but they are really cool! In the 16 strings yes, there are a whole lot of fb knots, but there are patterns that are worse to knot. I definitely will try this! 😘 ❤️
