I know someone came here and asked a similar question. I'm wondering if there is a way or some tips on turning normal patterns into alpha patterns. This would be helpful for bead loom bracelets as those follow row by row like alpha patterns. Normal patterns usually alternate from 5 knots to 6 when using the row by row method. I can't find any tutorials online.

If you want to use a pattern like #139645 that depicts a small, recognizable thing, then you can turn it 140 degrees (sideways) and it looks like a grid pattern. For others such as #18, there is no way to turn that into a gridded pattern, (that I know of) and you will just have to use alphas. You could use a normal pattern as a reference and make an alpha type pattern yourself that looks similar.

I'd also recommend turning them 45 degrees or trying to create a pattern with a similar appearance.

I've previously turned normal pattern #157031 into an alpha pattern #159052 for exactly that purpose by just trying to create a similar look. So if you want to, I could do that for you too, if you have a specific pattern in mind.
