Normal bracelet concept: open and closing mouth

Hi there!

I have made around 7 normal-pattern bracelets now and feel I've got enough of the hang of it to try making my own. A concept came to mind of a bracelet made to look like a mouth:
basically a bracelet starting joined, then split in two with rows of alternating "fang" triangles sticking out of each side. Ideally, once complete the two sides of the bracelet could be moved independently of one another, giving the impression of a sharp-toothed mouth being opened or closed.

I tried coming up with a pattern and testing it, but the triangle teeth ended up rounding over and not sticking out at all. I think it's to do with how the strings are handled once the triangle reaches a point;
the strings making up the triangle have nowhere to go and so I worked them back down into the base by using the forward-backward technique used in shaping ends. It didn't give much shape and I ended up with a very rounded triangle.

Basically, I'm looking for some feedback on how to improve this pattern (if it could even work) from more experienced makers, or even if someone proposed a different pattern/design!
Really anything is appreciated. Thanks everyone!

My original pattern for reference:

12 strings, 2 colours (black and white), dimensions 6x24
2 black far-left, 8 white center (4 for each side), 2 black far-right

Knot sequence:
f,0,0,f,b,b
bf,0,0,f,fb
f,f,0,0,f,b
bf,f,0,0,f
f,f,f,0,0,bf
bf,b,0,0,b
f,b,0,0,b,bf
b,0,0,b,fb
fb,0,0,f,b,b
f,0,0,b,fb
f,f,0,0,f,b

I think the concept is very good. I'm not sure, how to make the knots more pointy, but I tweaked your knotting structure a little, so the pattern would be acceptable on braceletbook:

Colours order: bbbbaaaabbbb
a is black and b is white

Knots:
0,0,0,0,0,0
0,0,f,0,0
0,0,b,f,0,0
0,b,f,f,0
0,b,b,f,f,0
b,b,0,f,f
b,b,0,0,f,f
b,f,0,0,f
bf,fb,fb,0,0,fb
bf,b,0,0,fb
bf,b,0,0,b,fb
bf,0,0,b,fb
bf,0,0,bf,bf,fb
bf,0,0,f,fb
bf,f,0,0,f,fb
bf,f,0,0,fb
bf,fb,fb,0,0,fb
bf,b,0,0,fb
bf,b,0,0,b,fb
bf,0,0,b,fb
bf,0,0,bf,bf,fb
bf,0,0,f,fb
bf,f,0,0,f,fb
bf,f,0,0,fb
bf,fb,fb,0,0,fb
bf,b,0,0,fb
bf,b,0,0,b,fb
bf,0,0,b,fb
bf,0,0,bf,bf,fb
bf,0,0,f,fb
bf,f,0,0,f,fb
bf,f,0,0,fb
bf,fb,fb,0,0,fb
bf,b,0,0,fb
bf,b,0,0,b,fb
bf,0,0,b,fb
bf,0,0,bf,bf,fb
f,0,0,f,b
f,f,0,0,b,b
f,f,0,b,b
0,f,f,b,b,0
0,f,f,b,0
0,0,f,b,0,0
0,0,f,0,0

I connected both halves of the pattern, because we usually don't accept patterns that are not connected and this way your intention with the pattern would be more clear from the preview.

Oooh thank you! I like the way this one looks too 😄
I will try giving it a go, though the problem with what to do with the white strings in the gaps still has me scratching my head a bit, unless the knots on the points carry the strings with them?
In any case, thanks for helping 😊

You should be able to make the knots at the edges of the teeth around the loose strings to hide the loose strings, just like you would in any other shaped normal. The teeth on the left and the right side don't share strings, so there should be no issue when doing this.

Ah right, sorry that's what I meant. I will give it a try later.
Maybe my problem was the teeth were too small and didn't have enough structure to hold the shape.
