To DESIGN a pattern you need to be on the website, not on the app. On the website you go to your profile icon, and with your mouse (if you're on computer) you put it on your profile icon, but you DON'T click. Under your profile icon there is a "Create patterns", a "To-dos", a "Loves" and a "Logout" button. You need to go on "Create patterns". On normal patterns I really recommend using the "Interactive normal", and on alphas I recommend using "Draw alpha".
