normal + alpha technique suggestions

I've been meaning to try out the normal + alpha technique for a while now but I can't decide what patterns to try it with. Please leave some alpha + normal combos I should make. (and remember, the number of base strings on the alpha needs to match the number of strings on the normal)

oh also I'll take combinations where the number of strings for the normal is twice as much as the number of base strings in the alpha (for instance a 24 string normal and a 12 base string alpha) since I like making normals with thread about half the thickness of the normal embroidery floss that I mostly use for alphas
