Any recommendations for someone who’s never made an alpha before? Thanks ❤️

@AthenaaaWell,the diameter of the threads is important. If you use threads of different diameters, the part with thicker threads will make the design wider and the area where thinner threads are used will be narrower. Use the same diameter... & For knitting alpha, I put a bunch of threads that forms the base, which I never knit : [Black or white threads and generally neutral colors are what I have most available], and I knit the rest of the threads over them:[Threads with special colors🌈] 📌If pattern is such that threads of base do not play a role in it, this method can be used... I hope this explanation is useful... Also, educational videos on the Internet are a guide for learning 😉 |

@AthenaaaAnd about making an alpha pattern when the generator says two colors are very similar and if it is really similar🟦 🟦then it's hard to find it even with letters...😊 You choose one of the similar colors that is a little far from the desired color & replace it with warning colors that are not found in your entire pattern, such as red🟥, and after saving, the points with the same color will show themselves. Fill them with another color that was similar🟦 |

I started with this one: #130371and a similar one I found seems also very beginner friendly: #138053 If you're comfortable with color switches or wanna exercise doing them, then Tori_Rose has really cool bird patterns: #133973 or #134770 |

I recommend #21401! I did that as my first pattern and it was pretty simple! It’s very small so good to start off with.
