Does anyone have pattern recommendations for practicing segment knitting from looking at a pattern? I’ve been taught things like a candy stripe & braid stitch before, but I want to be able to segment knot more, thanks!

I would say that you are looking for a pattern that has lots of diagonals of knots of just one colour

I think you already know the most important thing: look for a pattern with an easy to segment knot base structure like candystripe, chevron or braid

In addition to that, if a pattern has a structure that is not that clear, you can look for easy to segment knot shapes in it for example diamonds. Another thing that is usually easy to segment knot is, if something has an outline.

Here are a few examples for the different types
Candystripe #127882
Chevron #127828
Braid #126424
Diamonds #127850
Outline #127619

Patterns that are not good to segment are usually patterns that include detailed images like #127864 because they often have lots of fb and bf knots
