Anyone know how to make your own normal or alpha pattern? I know I go to "Create Patterns" I just don't understand how to make them.

for normal patterns, each knot must be forward, backward, forward-backward, or backward-forward. when you look at a pattern, the arrows each represent a knot. to make a pattern you would do the first letter of the knot followed by a comma, for each line. so it would look like this:
