@halokiwi thanks for the help! it makes sense for the triangle ends, however, I am still a bit confused on 108788. What do I do with the white strings?

I assume you mean the loose strings? You can either leave them loose or hide them in the edges. To hide them in the edges, you just make the outermost knots around all the loose strings - the same way you would do for triangle ends.
