how do I make those flat endings on bookmarks without nail polish or glue?

Hi so I wanted to start a bookmark because I have state tests tomorrow and I have to read after I’m done and I saw that lots of bookmarks have theses super straight flat edges and the hole with string and a tasselHow do I do straight edges at the bottom and top, the tassel, and the hole at the top? |
