I was wondering how I can turn a alpha pattern into a patch to go on shirts and stuff like that.

I am not sure if you can, but if you were, you might try not doing a specific shaped start, and then you can secure the strings with clear nail polish or something of the sort, then maybe sew it on, however I do not have a ton of experience with this..
