I agree with the comment above. Megan Morris on youtube, she takes it step by step and its very helpful. Then you could go on with the flat alpha technique by Masha Knots

If you want real alpha toutorialls watch megan morris she did some patterns as toutorials but if you want to try and learn to read patterns I would recomend you to watch both of mashas videos because in my oppinion she explains reading pattterns better in the first video but I like the outcome of the second one better.

and also watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2zdbbRaVjg this video it explais patterns really well especially if you want to learn how to read grid patterns because with that you could also use pixel art as well as crochet patterns for knotting
