so when i do my alphas, i usually use the flat alpha technique, but how do i make my knots straight instead of angled?

I’ve struggled with that too, I just try to not pull too hard and if a knot does pinch, try to adjust it right after it happens because it’s much hard to go back and fix it later.

The first few times I tried the flat alpha technique I experienced this but I was using cheap string. As a result sometimes some strings would thin while others stayed thick and so the thin string didn’t cover the face of the knot, leaving a very angled single string look instead of a full knot.

i find that doing the regular knots looser but then tying the knots where you do a color switch slightly tighter makes all the knots closer to the same size!
