I’ve just always taken a piece of scrap paper and folded it underneath the clip. It holds the bracelet in place and prevents the metal from cutting through the string (:

i use a binder clip on the top of the clip- it works wonders and it’s really stable if you segment knotting

I have a binder with patterns I’ve printed out and I use a big binder clip to secure the bracelet, and then put the pattern I’m working on in the clear sleeve, but I didn’t know the felt trick so I could possibly try that!

@brcltnoob yeah me neither! i never knew people used felt to keep their bracelets in place-! but this thread is 7 years old haha
