I have recently been having trouble having ALL my strings be the right length. I’ll have most strings be long enough to make finish off the bracelet but then I’ll have other strings that will be like 3 inches long but I’m so close to being done with it anyway.

Any tips on how to add just the right amount of string or how I could make some and know which strings need to be longer?💕

Look at what strings are used most in the pattern. And cut more of those and cut over 6 feet to be folded in half (this is what i do)

I like to look at the pattern to see what string is going to be used the most or a lot. Then I cut that string longer so it doesn’t run out as fast. But sometimes it’s hard to avoid but you can also always add more string in!

When looking at the pattern look and see which string appears the most through the pattern, especially if that color string is going in a zig-zag or a diamond shape because that takes up a lot of that sting. Hope this helps! 🙂

Megan Morris on YouTube has a video where she gives you a formula for how to find the perfect string length!

If you do have to little string do you just add more string in the way you do with alpha patterns or is there a better way?

I always cut my threads at an arm span length (fingertip to fingertip) and lay them down on the bed to see if they’re even. It’s better to have extra threads than no threads, with extra scrap threads you can make alpha bracelets or rag rugs bracelets.

Always measure your string longer then you think you will need, but I usually measure my wingspan then fold that string in half. Hope that helps! 😊💝
