I usually measure 1 meter for each string, if I want to fold them in half I measure 2 meters

hold the end of the string in one hand and the pull it with the other until it’s like from one arm to the others length

2 1/2 feet for one string and 5 feet - 5 1/2 feet for a loop. I add 4 inches for ties one one side, 8 inches for both. For the string that will make a loop, i add 15-30 cm, depending on how big it will be. 5 inches for triangle ends, and for double colored loop, i will add 10-20 cm to both strings.

Wingspan? or Arm span?

For normal patterns, I just use my arm span & sometimes my height as a measurement. & then add 6 or 8 more inches for one string for the loop.
