I'm a beginner when it comes to bracelet making (I know it says I'm advanced, but that's just cause I talk a lot 😂) What's the best way to start off a bracelet?

there are many ways to start off a bracelet! since you are a beginner i recommend starting with a overhand knot loop. basically if you have an even number of strings per color, you cut half the number of strings. if there is an odd number of strings per color you can tape your strings to your workplace and start knotting that way. once you’ve mastered these techniques you can try knotted loops and triangle ends which are both super pretty and easy to make and they look really professional. masha knots has youtube tutorials for knotted loops and triangle ends and she has a whole playlist of different starts and finishes. to answer your question, though, certain starts are easier depending on the pattern. so if you have an odd number of strings it is generally better to tape it to your workspace and start knotting or to make triangle ends rather than to make a loop. i hope that helps!

I pretty much always do triangle ends on each end. Sometimes, depending on the pattern I will do 2 triangles on each end.

You could also use adjustable knots

There are many tutorials on YouTube and Instagram and websites on how to make knots adjustable. You could also try crimp ends (again try YouTube or masha knots for helps on how to make them).

I recommend starting w a lot of extra string before the knot. This will help you end it after. If you need help keeping your strings sorted, investing in a loom would be a good idea. I use one sometimes, too just to start. If you don't want to invest in a loom, cutting some slits and making one out of cardboard works very well, too!

I like to do the teardrop loop the most, I feel like it looks super nice and doesn’t take much effort. I also like the twisted ties at the ends because they also look super fancy, despite the fact that they are super simple

My personal favorite is the triangle starts and the diagonal start. I believe Alex Innovations has tutorials on both on her channel! They are both fairly basic and easy to learn!

Personally I like the teardrop loop but triangle ends are good too!

For a beginner, I recommend twisted ties, and you can make your bracelet adjustable by following kinsey b’s YouTube tutorial
