If u make a string too short, tie another on, use a little clear nail polish or glue, let dry, and cut excess string, works like a charm!

also for tying on new colors in alphas, make a knot on the back with the new string and the one you aren't using after a few rows are done and add a dot of glue and cut the ends so the back is less messy.

Does it work to use the "string substitution" method for a normal with a few short strings? I would like to try it...

what i do when my strings are too short in normals is just to an opposite knot if im doing a knot with two same strings, that way i change them and i can use the longer one 🙂 or if not i tie in another string on the back, then cut knot from the back of and but a drop of super glue on top 🙂 and that hold great and you dont have to have a knot on the back!

When I run out of thread, I tie a knot with the new piece and let the ends dangle as I finish the bracelet. When I'm all done, I sew in the ends. I could never get the knotting method to work as I'd get a lump so sewing them in just looks a lot neater for me!

Yeah, I like Adik method, I do the same thing. I hate having to work with super long string, especially if its a new bracelet and I am still learning. It helps out a lot

If you still have enough thread to weave can do that too 🙂

When I run out of string I generally get another piece and use it together with the other one for the next two rows at least then pull the old one to the back. Afterwards I just cut the ends off cause they're already tied in. There's also no knot on the back.

I find it easier to cut more than enough string and put the excess in a kinder surprise egg (the plastic egg that contains the toy)Then I use the leftover string next time |

Since I have no clear nail polish, I knotted the string and it's just that. I put the short string at the back side of my bracelet so the chunk of thread that is cut will not be obvious in the bracelet. Last time, I didn't even used this method until I realized the big trouble of it when doing my first alpha patterned bracelet.
