Howdy, I just wanted to share my thoughts and opinions after using some prism threads. I bought the multicolor 36 pack for 5.99 and here's my thoughts on it.

The contents. 18 multicolors 18 solids. Not a big deal but I was disappointed about the lack of multi color threads in a pack labeled as a multi colored pack. I would rather have 36 variegated strings than half solid and half colorful. If I wanted solids I would purchase the exact colors I wanted. The strings are more like embroidery floss than craft cord, it's also DMC brand so if you care about making sure not to mix your brands of threads you'd still be fine getting DMC floss I think. So for example with an yellow/red/blue string I would purchase the exact shade of yellow and blue I liked along the embroidery floss options, rather than being stuck with an olive green that I didn't like very much.

Color breakdown: In general you get two threads of each multi color and each solid. With four exceptions. I got three of two multi color, and three solid orange, and three solid green. This affected how I organized my threads, but not a major issue. (It just annoyed me a bit since I had to change how I was planning on organizing the threads).

The bracelet making: boy howdy this was where I (as a beginner most likely) had most of my problems. my problems were that the material is very soft and very... snag-y. The threads were constantly felting on themselves and knotting themselves up so I had to untangle my threads over and over to work on a row. The end result did look nice though.

Me personally: I don't hate them, but I won't be reaching for them first when I want to make a bracelet. I'll use the variegated threads as backgrounds on alphas (which is why I wanted as many multi colored options) but the solids will probably sit in a box for some time. What do you guys think? Have you tried the prisms? Did you enjoy them?

wow! this is super helpful thanks. i really like multicolored thread granted i’ve never used it personally i think you should find a box with all multicolored instead if that is what you’re looking for. amazon has a ton a thread that you can buy in bulk for pretty good quality. i find that dmc are more silky and tend to be hard when taking out of the package and they are made for embroidery where you usually split the strings amazon has more tightly wrapped strings which can be easier for beginning

I had some prism embroidery floss a while ago, and still have some of their craft cord. The embroidery floss wasn’t terrible, but I found that I snapped it easily. Their craft cord is ok, the sweets pack has really nice pastel colors, however it isn’t smoothly twisted. The craft cord is kind of fuzzy.
