Hi,
I am new to BraceletBook. I’ve been here for a few weeks. Anyway, I am working on an Alpha and my base string broke twice (this is the second time). I tie my base strings in as if I am tieing in a new leading string. Is there another way that I can do this and not start over? Thanks!!

You could try do it by taping the new base string(s) down behind the bracelet, and make your knots needed over both the old string and the new string. I would make a minimum of 6 rows (if you can) before then folding the old string back behind the bracelet so it's out of the way. And then continue knotting, as you normally would to complete the pattern.
Whilst making those knots over the two strings it might seem a bit wobbly or unstable at first, but that's normal, it will get sturdier. The more rows you do over both the old and new string you added the better.

It was one base string that broke and the base string came completely out. Do you have any advice? Thank you!

Ah, I see! Sorry, I must have misread your initial post. In that case you could cut a new string and tape down the first inch of it around where you need the string to go. You'll have to do your first few knots with the new string carefully. The tail that you taped down can be cut off after you finish the bracelet. Before you cut it off, you could dab a little bit of nail polish over it (at the back) just to secure it. Usually you wouldn't need to, but if you want a peace of mind, then that option is there for you. Try slacking your knots slightly, you may be tying them too tight and that is why they are breaking. Try keep your knots in between loose and tight.
