Hello guys,

I have just seen something on Instagram that fascinates me: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C1z9kIHvBUO/?igsh=MXRmZ2tjMmRuYXU2NA==
How do I start a bracelet like this?
I can guess how to make this button hole, but I don't know where she takes the strings from the start.
The pattern might be this one #69944

Thank you!

No it's not this pattern, but maybe someone can find it? It's the same but with 7 colors instead of 5.

Take all you strings as a bundle.
With the strings that need to be in the center of that start, make a lark's head knot.
On the left side of the lark's head knot, make a bf knot onto the bundle with the colour that needs to be on the left side of the center strings.
On the right side of the lark's head knot, make a fb knot onto the bundle with the colour that needs to be on the right side of the center strings.
Continue like you usually would in a triangle start.
You basically do the same things you would do, if there was a loop, but you skip the loop.

I think #70211 is the pattern

Great, thank you!!!
Now I only have to understand that...

A lark's head knot usually is made onto something (a string, a stick...like the beginning of an alpha keychain). I don't get where I make it onto in this case. It would go off otherwise...

Ahhh, I think I get it.
I take the whole lot of strings, fold them in half as usually. Only the string of the center - in this case the dark orange one - makes a lark's head knot onto the whole bundle and then I continue as usually.

Got it?

You make it onto the center of the string bundle.

You make the same larks head knot you would make to start a loop, only you don't do a loop afterwards. You continue with the triangle start immediately.

Would be cool to try something new! The bracelet itself with 28 strings is a whole lot of work though. But it looks soooo great! And the idea with the button whole like this instead of a loop would also be nice. 🔥

Here is a tutorial for a button hole or bookmark hole in an alpha pattern: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Brcs9Bu5T0Q
I think I know how to do this in this special pattern (make a knot on the second string instead of knotting together the two first strings). But I just wonder if this is possible with every pattern. There must be a tutorial somewhere, I just could not find one on YouTube.

Sorry, forgot the buttonhole question

I would just leave out the knots between the two center strings for a bit to create a slit

It is possible in any normal pattern where two strings of the same colour meet in the center or there are bf or fb knots in the center because then leaving these knots out does not affect the rest of the pattern.

In patterns where this is not the case you would need to do some editing to make it the case. It's not possible in all patterns.

Then it's the right way I thought. Thank you!
