hey what do u guys do with ur orts? (aka scrap thread) I just turned mine into what i am deeming an ort pet. (it’s my current pfp and it’s not a good photo but u get the idea) So first separate ur ones that are decently long (at least the length of ur palm) from the rest. Then roll the smaller ones up until they partially held together then i wrapped it in the longer strings one at a time tyigg my a knot and pulling it tight and repeating this with all the longer ones until it fully held itself together. Lastly i cut a length of black string and knotted on 2 spots until they were decent sized. Then i tied that around and used some more extra threads to make sure that one was attached. And voila! Ort pet! What do u guys do tho? |

I have mainly small pieces that I can't make rag rugs with, so rn I'm storing them in a box until I have enough to make a sort of abstract painting (maybe a landscape) by placing them in a frame, one that's fully transparent with 2 pieces of glass 🙂

Mine honestly just rot in a ziplock bag lol. I’ve made 1 rag rug and it took me FOREVER to finish so I’m not planning to do another one, or do anything with my scrap thread anytime soon, they can have fun rotting in a bag 🥰 Another thing I’ve thought of is maybe if you’re into sewing you could use scrap thread as pillow stuffing or just stuffing any sewing project in general, and if u don’t see you could “gift” your scrap thread to someone who does?!? |

@str6yk1ds I sew too, and honestly got more than enough scrap fabric to fill the stuff i saw haha, the volume of thread is so low comparatively ^^
