The easiest way is to rotate the pattern 45° but the pattern might look very different then. A bit more difficult would be to design a pattern that just looks similar. Alpha patterns and normal patterns have a different structure, so you can't transform them 1:1. Do you have a specific pattern in mind? |

Yes #150754, I'm not sure how to make it without the beads on the end where in a normal pattern wouldn't be a knot.

The pattern you mentioned is an alpha pattern. You should be able to use it for bead loom without any issue. Are we talking about the same thing? On braceletbook there are two types of patterns: - normal patterns for example #1 or #2 - and alpha patterns for example #4847 or #38672 Alpha patterns can be used for any craft that uses a pattern grid for example bead loom, but also knitting, crochet, cross stitch or perler beads and of course alpha bracelets. |

How many rows does a bead loom pattern need ideally?

On an alpha, however many base strings +2. So it would be the the for a normal, I just need to know what color of bead goes into the space on the end

I don't mean the amount of base strings but how long the pattern needs to be.What space at the end? |

You can make it however long you want. When you look at a normal pattern, every other row has 1 less knot. So when your knotting say like it has 8 strings, it would go 8,7,8,7 because you don't make that knot but I'm not sure which bead I need to put when you have that space

If you want to follow the normal pattern, you have to follow the structure of a normal pattern. You can't just add an extra bead in the even rows while following the structure of an alpha pattern and call it a day. This won't work. If you are set on following the normal pattern like it is, you could check out brick stitch. I mean, how many rows would it need, if it was an alpha pattern. I've submitted an alpha pattern that tries to imitate the appearance of the normal pattern. I'll let you know once it is accepted. I wanted to know the amount of rows so I could make the pattern the ideal length, but I ended up going with whatever looked the nicest. |
