Hi guys,Using polyester strings I recognize that they fray out very quickly, even when knotting and within some days while wearing the bracelets. Is there anything I can do about it? The bracets look so cool and it really is a pity that they don't look anymore good so quickly. |

It might be a quality issue of the string. Is the string already untwisting while you tie the bracelet? In that case I recommend tying a little knot at the end of the string to stop that. Apart from that try to not get the bracelet wet. |

Possibly try to buy more expensive string? You can also try to tie the end of the string into a knot to prevent it from fraying! Hope this helps!

I am not talking of the end of the string, but the whole string itself. Like with very old t-shirts.Cotton strings are really expensive here - 2 euro per skein, only Anchor. And DMC originial is also not a lot cheaper (online). So I think I have to deal with it. Does someone wax the strings? |

I would suggest just trying, if waxing the string does something for you.

I think it just depends, the thread i use some of the colors fray while others don’t i just try my best while making the pattern so that it doesn’t fray too much, i’ve noticed any thread that has a shiny look/feel to it tends to fray

While tying the bracelet, make sure when tying the knots that the strings don't rub against each other for a long time. Pull the strings through as close to the top as possible when tying a knot.

It really is noticeable that the black strings fray out most. And they attract cat hair the most! 😂

I have normal string and waxed string I just buy off Amazon, it’s pretty cheap too although it does untwist a little bit I just continue on and it looks good in the end. The best part is you can burn it with a lighter in the end and it will stay put and not fray at the end or untie if you did it correctly unlike the “normal” string, with the waxed string as well it also makes it easier to make it an adjustable bracelet with two strings and a square knot and holds up great in the water!!
