Hi there! Ive been wanting to do some alpha patterns on dowel rods, but all the ones I've ordered or found in stores have been too rough and the thread will get caught on the grain of the rod. I've tried sanding a dowel down and it worked OK, but I was wondering if anyone could send me some reccomendations for dowels that don't need to be sanded/treated to save me some time? I've literally resorted to using colored pencils as dowels for now LOL 😭 |

I get mine either from Michaels or Amazon 😊

@RyanMarieS any specific Amazon links? The ones I bought were super rough and I got a couple of splinters from them 😓

My suggestion would be to sand them down.

I actually use the bamboo kebab sticks you can buy at the grocery store. But i've tried the ones on Amazon and they're super cheap. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08XQQ69WD/ref=twister_dp_update?ie=UTF8&redirect=true&th=1 |

I find amazon and micheals are usually your best bet. Some hardware stores have them but craft stores are usually a better bet
