Making bracelets on a safety pin

I have seen many bracelet makers making their alpha bracelets on safety pins, just wondering; why?

You do larkshead knots (I think that's what they're called) onto the safety pin.

I have done that to use them as brooches/badges. It just gives myself a wider variety on what to make them for and what to use them as. 🙂

Oh, I misread. I thought you were asking how, not why. I think it's because to make a bracelet you need a certain length but if you put it on a safety pin the length doesn't matter so you can make it shorter.

I have made a couple on pins to wear as badges and to decorate my backpack.Some people also like to use them as an alternative way to fasten a bracelet. |
