So I have been making bracelets for a few years now and I use the flat alpha technique and the straight edges technique for both alphas and normal bracelets. I notice that the bracelet width fluctuates no matter how hard I try to keep it straight. I think my knots might vary in how tight or loose I tie them. Any tips on getting uniform knots?

loosen your knots. it’s helps a lot with keeping the tension consistent and the rows straight because it’s easier to move the knots in a row if they’re looser. loosening your knots also helps with the flat alpha technique because the knots where there’s a string going in between the knots are slightly larger, so looser knots makes those knots more even with the others

What helped me was using the exact same finger positioning for each knot. Also, make sure that all your knots are tight and evenly spaced along the row--sometimes I'll pull too hard on a knot and the knots about it will loosen, which will change the bracelet's shape unless you go back and redo it.
