I've been on this site for a little bit and I've noticed a lot of patterns I'm into. Specifically a lot of the anime patterns. However a lot of these patters have 50+ base strings. I was wondering if anyone has a tip to cutting out a large quantity of base strings. I'm also aware that the number of base strings will probably be halved, but if a pattern has 100 base strings, I'll still have to cut out 50. If push comes to shove I will cut out 50+ base strings if I really want to do the pattern. It's just with all that prep work, sometimes I lose the energy to even start the pattern. So, just in case I was wondering if someone found a more practical solution! ๐Ÿ˜„

(Also, I hope this is the right thread to ask this on. This will be my first time interacting on the site so I hope I didn't mess up!) .

If you have two poles or objects that you can wrap your thread around multiple times, that will save a lot of time.
All you have to do is count how many times you go around the poles and you've got your base strings!
I suggest making the makeshift poles moveable so you can make them close or far apart.
Hope this helps!๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜Š
