Hi y'all! Do any of you have the problem of holding strings down in place 🤔 I've been having trouble because if I use a clipboard they slip right through so I've been using tape 😊 It's been hard though because the tape eventually dries out and I have to replace it, it also slips out occasionally 🙁 What do you guys do to solve this problem and am I the only one having trouble with this?!? Anyway, let me know! 😊 😄 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Try to tape your string different ways. Like tape it left then right. Hope this helps!😊

I personally use duct tape to hold down my strings. I find it stronger than masked tape or scotch tape. I have heard people say that they end up with sticky residue on their work from the duct tape but I have not had that problem and I have tried several brands of tape

Something that I saw someone talk about which has helped me out a lot is to spread out your strings and then put tape on them. I think it was Masha Knots but I honestly can't remember.

I lay out the strings in the order the pattern begins and then I tape down. My personal favorite tapes is the 3M transpore tape and duck tape (the duck brand lol). But with that duck tape, I’d be careful as it does leave a small residue.

If you want to try a different technique to hold your strings down, I find using a safety pin works really well. So you can just pin what you are knotting down on like a pillow, or really anything that you can put a pin it onto. Masha Knots has a video called 5 simple bracelet hacks on YouTube where she shows how to secure it. Hope this helps!

also a large binder clip can be used in conjunction with a thin book to work as a more secure "clipboard" , although it is hard to do the first few rows, I use this and it really helps

I use a 📋 clipboard. As shown on that emoji u need a metal clip. I actually got mine in Walmart for like 2$ but u can find them cheaply on most sites. I’ve never had problems with a clipboard

I have been doing this trick since I was a child, I get a piece of thick cardboard and cut slits into it and then tape down the strings at the top back with tape

I don’t tape down, I just use a safety pin, loop the loop of the start of my bracelet through, and pin it to my jeans. Works well, is easy, cheap, and portable. It doesn’t even damage my clothes. Would recommend :]

I lay my tape sticky side up, arrange the strings, and then put another piece of tape over that. I tape that down to the table. It’s the only way I can get mine to stay.

I secure my bracelets weirdly. I normally braid the ends of my bracelet, and then I tie that braid I n a knot onto the handle of my water bottle. I find this works better for me than a clipboard or tape. However, when I do use a clipboard, I make sure all the strings are laying flat and not on top of one another. This helps keep any from slipping through.

i tie a knot that i can take out and put that behind my clipboard clip if that makes sense. sometimes i just tie the strings around a safety pin and clip it to my pillow or sweatpants too

I use a binder clip attached to a piece of really stiff cardboard. but i use the teardrop loop technique so my start is easier for the clip to grab on toif you're using a clipboard i would strongly recommend tying a knot at the start or using a teardrop loop beginning so your strings don't slip out |

Hi I use something like a book and then tape the strings into the inside of the cover. Then I tape some in the front too! This works really good for me especially when lying around the house and knotting!

i usually use tape when starting, but when i’m sure my bracelet is fine, i use my clipboard (even though i just usually do the tape thing further down on my clipboard so i have a flat surface i can move)

i had the same trouble with my old clipboard, it had like a round metal bar that went accross. but i found a clipboard that had like an actual giant paper clip as the clip instead of the metal bar that’s on most clipboards and it’s amazing! idk if that makes sense, but i recommend looking at different types of clipboards if you haven’t already 🙂
